Welcome to Alpha Beta

In 1866, the Alpha Beta chapter of Beta Theta Pi was the first Greek fraternity on The University of Iowa campus. With such an important history in the Greek society at the University, it is exciting that the chapter recolonized in the Fall of 2005. Since then, the chapter has been continuing to grow in quality and quantity.

Chartering Banquet

Homecoming
The Alpha Beta chapter celebrated receiving its charter with a banquet held at the Sheraton Hotel ballroom on April 4th. The night was filled with great food, friends, guest speakers, and dancing. The President of the Beta Theta Pi General Fraternity, Tom Purinton, awarded the Alpha Beta chapter with its charter during a ceremony held before the banquet. He also was a guest speaker during the banquet. We would like to thank the many alumni and friends of Beta who attended.

Our chapter recently participated in the 2009 Homecoming festivities with the women of Pi Beta Phi, which included performing a skit themed after "Night at the Museum" and building a float for the annual parade.  The week finished off, of course, with a celebration of the Iowa victory over Michigan.

Beta Bags
Thank you to everyone who attended Beta Bags, and we would like to congratulate the ladies of Alpha Chi Omega. One team from Alpha Chi Omega were the winners of two Apple iPods. We would also like to thank Apple and the Ronald McDonald house for their support in making our philanthropy a success.
